Hey y’all!
I’m dropping in to let y’all know I am a Guest Chick on the blog, Chicks on the Case.
This is big deal for me as this blog is run by a group of women who have years in the game of writing and mysteries.
Some of you know I’ve been working on my mystery series, An Andi Raye Mystery. I’m at 15k words, actually, a little over now.
I’ve been wanting to be a NYT Bestselling novelist for the longest time. You don’t see many mysteries like mine hit the list, so it’s about more than my individual success. It’s about the genre (amaetur sleuth) and the protaginist being Black, that isn’t about a heavy topic, but more lighthearted and fun with a side of serious.
It’s hard to go after a dream that has no guarantees, especially when you have a child.
Part of the reason I want to write for a living is so I can have freedom over my schedule. My kiddo is on the spectrum and being able to take him to his therapies and appointments is big for me. (Chad also wants to be a stay-at-home dad to help as well.)
Another reason: I love writing. Its always been a part of me. I love stories and great storytelling. I have this dream of being able to change the way someone views the world by my words.
Anywho, I talk about if Lent helped me in my writing journey over on the Chicks-Guest Chick Christilisa. I would love for y’all to read it and give the blog a follow. The ladies are incredibly funny and kind and deserve all the support in their writing journeys as well.
If y’all are into following the novel/short story fiction writing journey, you can follow me at Buy Me A Coffee. I don’t currently post because there aren’t many people who have been interested in it but I hope that changes with y’all. :)
Until next time my loves,
xoxo~Christilisa
P.S. Sometimes what is right for you will scare you; do it anyway. Find people who will support you. If you don’t or can’t find someone, know that I’m rooting for you to succeed. I’m always down to give encourging words and advice.
